Our Ember’s flying

Ember said. Recently the sports star was invited to attend the Canadian Commonwealth Games, but was unable to attend because of a lack of funds.

Next year, she is hoping to compete at the US Open in Las Vegas.

Ember trains four to five days a week and follows a strict diet and fitness regime. WHEN it comes to balancing work, studies and a gruelling taekwondo training regime, Park Orchards ’ Eve Ember knows how to tough it out.

The 20-year-old last year won silver at the Taekwondo Australian Open and National Championships in Sydney.

This followed gold at the same event in 2005, and a silver at the Victorian Championships in 2006.

Ember earned many of the medals while completing her VCE and working part time to cover training expenses.
